A Structured Repetition

by Darby M. Eakins

imitate everything but copy nothing

 A Structured Repetition

“that’s an interesting structure”

            (not the building though,

            him).

they took those building blocks,

staples and glue

repeat  repeat

to put him together

            like conception (mother-half plus father-half)

not half and half, a whole

            repeat  repeat

his structure, hidden (interesting)

            like a song,

            is heard, hummed, (hawed?), repeated

never replicated

mimicked?  sure.

            repeat  repeat

never the same

            or seen

parts unheard, whole felt; like emotion

 “that’s an interesting structure”

repeat.
