There's An Ibis In My Backyard There's An Ibis In My Backyard

...is a photographic collection of Maggie's encounters with just a few of the many delightful birds of Galveston Island, Texas.

The book contains 27 color prints of birds.

Maggie Petsch is a crochet historian, designer, and editor whose works have appeared in leading crochet periodicals and hardcovers.  Her love for the birds of Galveston Island - who, according to Maggie, have the remarkable ability to look both ridiculous and sublime at the same time - has led her into photography.  She also interprets her photographs into needlework, employing both embroidery and crochet.

A native Texan who was inadvertently born elsewhere, Maggie resides on Galveston Island with her husband, an assortment of dogs and cats, and an occasional ibis in her backyard.

Maggie hopes through her work to make people – particularly latent birders – aware of the beauty of Galveston Island so its birds and wildlife will continue to have a home and her grandson and his grandchildren will be able to view and appreciate them.
